Description

1909 Indian Quarter Eagle, MS66
Only One Finer at PCGS

1909 $2 1/2 MS66 PCGS. Ex: Donald A. Kutz. The mintage of 441,760 1909 quarter eagles ranks fifth of 15 issues in the series and fourth of the 12 Philadelphia Mint issues. This Premium Gem is an important condition rarity as are most issues in the Indian quarter eagle series. For all 15 issues from 1908 to 1929, PCGS has graded 371 submissions in MS66, 22 more in MS66+, and just seven coins in MS67. The frosty peach-gold surfaces of this lustrous example display lovely blue-green overtones and minuscule grade-consistent marks. Population: 31 in 66 (1 in 66+), 0 finer (11/24).(Registry values: N4719)
