Description
Marvelous 1911 Quarter Eagle, MS65
1911 $2 1/2 MS65 PCGS. The 1911 quarter eagle has one of the highest mintages of the Indian Head series, but Gems and finer pieces are nonetheless elusive, and nearly as difficult as better-known issues such as the 1914 and 1914-D. This piece offers marvelously smooth yellow-orange surfaces, particularly on the Indian's cheek and the field before it. The strike is also somewhat stronger than usually seen on this type and date. Population: 71 in 65, 1 finer (9/09).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2893, PCGS# 7942, GSID# 8606)
Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
