1911-D Two and a Half, AU58
1911-D $2 1/2 AU58 PCGS. Strong D. The distinctive, textured
luster and the knife rim along the right hand obverse border
confirm the authenticity of this Denver key. The strike is sharp,
and each side displays only the faintest trace of friction in the
fields. Unlike many 1911-D quarter eagles that are cleaned and
unnaturally bright, this piece has attractive greenish-gold and
sun-yellow hues over each side. (NGC ID# 7KR7, PCGS# 7943)
Strong D, Distinctive Coloration
Weight: 4.18 grams
Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
