Description

Gleaming 1911-D Quarter Eagle, MS61

1911-D $2 1/2 MS61 NGC. The 1911-D has the lowest mintage of any Indian quarter eagle issue by far, though its desirability has led to a high certified population and frequent auction appearances, which can distort collectors' perceptions of this desirable key. The shining surfaces of this example are predominantly sun-gold with a touch of canary-yellow on the reverse. Solidly detailed with a bold mintmark, though the obverse shows light, grade-defining abrasions in the fields.(Registry values: N2998)
