    Description

Mint State 1911-D Quarter Eagle Rarity, MS62

1911-D $2 1/2 MS62 NGC. The combination of a low mintage and a low survival rate are responsible for creation of this key-date coin. Only 55,680 of these were struck, and few were saved at the time of issue. Today, most of the known survivors are lightly circulated, or at the lowest Mint State grade levels. This example, in a highly desirable Mint State grade, is an attractive rose-gold colored piece with sharp design elements and a bold mintmark. The surfaces are relatively mark-free, and they exhibit pleasing satin luster. We expect considerable competition among collectors when this example crosses the block.(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 7KR7, PCGS# 7943)
