    Description

    1911-D Quarter Eagle, Well-Struck MS62
    Key Date to the Series

1911-D $2 1/2 MS62 NGC. With an original mintage of just 55,680 pieces, the 1911-D has long been considered the key to this very collectible and quite affordable series. More often seen in XF or AU condition, this issue is scarce in Mint State grades. This solid example has bright golden luster and is well struck, including the Indian's headdress and the eagle's shoulder. The MS62 grade was apparently assigned because of a number of light, scattered abrasions (none of which are serious) that are visible under magnification. This specimen boasts a strong mintmark.
