Sharp Mint State 1911-D Quarter Eagle

1911-D $2 1/2 MS62 PCGS. This issue is the single key date among Indian quarter eagles, and it is always in demand. In fact, the last couple of years have seen a substantially heightened demand for the date, and today, true Mint State examples are seldom available. This example is especially desirable for its complete and bold mintmark. So many examples of this date have extremely weak, or in some cases invisible, mintmarks. Other die characteristics must be studied to identify those coins as products of the Denver Mint. In the case of this coin, no such study is needed. All of the design features on both sides are nicely defined. The surfaces have attractive yellow-gold color with satiny luster. Overall, this is an extremely desirable example of the date.(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 7KR7, PCGS# 7943)
