Lovely 1911-D Indian Two and a Half MS62

1911-D $2 1/2 MS62 PCGS. Satiny luster graces this desirable canary-gold key date representative. The strike is unassailable, and the mintmark is bold and in full relief. The reverse on its own merits is uncommonly devoid of marks, and the obverse also has fewer than the expected number of abrasions. The popularity of the 1911-D begins with its mintage, which is less than one-fourth that of its closest competitor, the 1914. The issue was also saved to a lesser extent than the common dates of the series, struck during its Jazz Age revival. Since many Uncirculated 1911-D examples have a weak mintmark, with only an outline of the interior visible, an unblemished example that possesses a bold mintmark is certain to please the advanced collector.(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 7KR7, PCGS# 7943)
