    Description

Select Mint State 1911-D Indian Head Quarter Eagle

1911-D $2 1/2 MS63 NGC. This example has a bold mintmark, making it all the more desirable to collectors. Both sides are fully lustrous with rich yellow-gold color and a conspicuous lack of imperfections. Only the slightest abrasions are visible with magnification. It is well known that this is the key date to the Indian quarter eagle series. For any collector considering the formation of a set of these coins, our recommendation is to acquire this date first, then carefully select matching pieces from the much larger populations of all other issues. (Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 7KR7, PCGS# 7943)

    Weight: 4.18 grams

    Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
