    Description

    1911-D Quarter Eagle, MS63
    Elusive CAC Example

1911-D $2 1/2 MS63 PCGS. CAC. Although several dates are conditional rarities, only one Indian quarter eagle issue is considered an absolute key: the 1911-D. This Denver issue has a famously low mintage of 55,680 pieces, brought about by a lack of commercial demand for the denomination that year. Quarter eagles were not coined again at Denver until 1914, and after that not again until 1925. This Select example is sharp and satiny with yellow-gold luster. Eye appeal is pleasing for the grade. Although MS63 coins are not particularly rare for this date, CAC-approved examples in this grade are, which makes the present piece stand out.(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 7KR7, PCGS# 7943)
