    Description

    1911-D Indian Quarter Eagle, MS63
    Low-Mintage Series Key

1911-D $2 1/2 MS63 PCGS. Strong D. The 1911-D is the rarest Indian half eagle in absolute terms, from a series-low mintage of 55,680 pieces. Long acknowledged as the key to the series, the issue is always in demand from 20th century gold collectors. Examples in lower Mint State grades can be located with patience, but the 1911-D becomes scarce at the MS63 level.

This attractive Select example displays light orange-gold surfaces with a few highlights of green. Both sides show a few minor contact marks with strong mint luster throughout. The design elements are sharply detailed and the all-important mintmark is boldly rendered.(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 7KR7, PCGS# 7943)

    Weight: 4.18 grams
