    Description

    Key-Date 1911-D Quarter Eagle, MS64

1911-D $2 1/2 MS64 NGC. The 1911-D Indian Head quarter eagle boasts the lowest mintage of the series, with only 55,680 pieces coined. To quote David Akers, "This is by far the rarest and most valuable date of the Indian Head quarter eagle type." Many specimens are seen with a weak mintmark, but the D on the present coin is sharp. An exemplary strike imparts crisp definition to all design elements. The granular, matte-like surfaces are overlaid with rich, satiny mint luster, and are enhanced by light, even shades of red throughout. The only noticeable flaw is a small dark spot at the top of the eagle's legs.(Registry values: N7079) (NGC ID# 7KR7, PCGS# 7943)

    Weight: 4.18 grams

The outcome of the auction far exceeded my best hopes and would not likely have been as successful with out your sound advice on where to present the coin and how best to set the reserve. Throughout the process your availability , support and knowledge were exceptional.
