    Description

1911-D Indian Head Quarter Eagle, MS64
    Impressive and Appealing Key-Date Example

1911-D $2 1/2 MS64 NGC. Like the 1909-S VDB Lincoln cent, the 1916-D Mercury dime, and the 1916 Standing Liberty quarter, the 1911-D Indian Head quarter eagle is an undisputed low-mintage key issue from the early years of the 20th century. Having the lowest mintage is not an absolute guarantee that one issue will prove to be the rarest in a given series, but the 1911-D has withstood the test of time and its key-date status remains unchallenged to this day.

The current near-Gem example includes great eye appeal among its list of attributes. The vibrant luster highlights warm golden-orange toning that is richer and far more appealing than the typical lighter coloration. Bold strike definition only reveals a tiny bit of softness on the design's highest points. The surfaces display minimal marks which are entirely consistent with the MS64 grade assessment.(Registry values: N7079) (NGC ID# 7KR7, PCGS# 7943)
