    Description

    Impressive MS64 PCGS 1911-D Indian Two-and-a-Half

1911-D $2 1/2 MS64 PCGS. The first of only three mintmarked issues in the 1908-1929 Indian Quarter Eagle series, the 1911-D is by far the rarest. It has been nearly a year since one of our Signature Sales featured a near-Gem representative of this important issue. Reddish-gold in color, both sides also exhibit rich green-gold undertones. The often seen alloy spots are not present, nor can we find more than a few trivial reverse abrasions. Sharply struck with a crisp mintmark. Expect this coin to incite significant competition between numismatists who specialize in high grade representatives of this widely collected series. (NGC ID# 7KR7, PCGS# 7943)

    Weight: 4.18 grams
