    1911-D Indian Quarter Eagle, MS64
    Popular Branch Mint Key

1911-D $2 1/2 MS64 PCGS. Strong D. The Indian quarter eagle series includes only three branch mint issues, all from the Denver Mint. The first of these popular issues is the famous 1911-D, from a series-low mintage of 55,680 pieces. The 1911-D is a sought-after key and examples in MS64 condition are only somewhat scarce, but strong collector-demand makes securing a piece at that grade level quite challenging. Finer specimens are rare. This attractive Choice example exhibits sharply detailed design elements, with all three claws in the necklace boldly rendered. The lustrous orange-gold surfaces radiate vibrant mint luster and overall eye appeal is outstanding. PCGS has graded 25 numerically finer examples (8/16).(Registry values: N7079) (NGC ID# 7KR7, PCGS# 7943)
