    Description

    1911-D Quarter Eagle, MS64
Fully Struck With a Bold Mintmark
    Premium Eye Appeal

1911-D $2 1/2 MS64 PCGS. A bold mintmark is just one of the highlights of this remarkable key-date coin, the undisputed king of the Indian Head quarter eagle series and a issue that is subject to ceaseless demand from a growing collector base. This near-Gem also offers satiny, textured, peach-gold surfaces that feature deeper reddish-gold accents around the rims. The delightful coloration adds to the premium appeal. Each side is notably free of all but the most minuscule signs of contact, even on the Indian's exposed cheekbone and the open fields on the reverse. This is a fantastic example, for which strong bidding should be expected. PCGS has certified only 26 pieces finer (8/18).
    Ex: FUN Signature (Heritage, 1/2008), lot 3106, where it brought $25,300.(Registry values: N7079) (NGC ID# 7KR7, PCGS# 7943)
