    1911-D Quarter Eagle, MS63
    Strong D Example

1911-D $2 1/2 Strong D MS63 PCGS. CAC. As the only true "stopper" in the Indian quarter eagle series, the 1911-D is highly sought-after in all grades, but especially in Mint State. Only 55,680 pieces were struck, and while Uncirculated coins are not rare in the absolute sense, they are elusive at all levels in comparison to the demand for them. Among gold series, the Indian quarter eagle set is arguably the most heavily pursued of all United States gold due to its short length and the relative affordability of most issues therein.

This Select example of the 1911-D is well-struck, with the mildly granular luster that is characteristic of this issue. Medium honey-gold color blankets both sides and the fields are unusually clean for the grade.(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 7KR7, PCGS# 7943)
