Description
Attractive Near-Gem 1912 Two and a Half
1912 $2 1/2 MS64 PCGS. The 1912 quarter eagle is surprisingly challenging to locate in near-Gem or better condition. Garrett-Guth (2006) consider this date to be "the third or fourth scarcest issue to find in Gem grades by specialists, falling just behind the 1911-D and 1914-D issues for availability." Therefore, the offering of a conservatively graded, eye-appealing piece--such as the current coin--typically meets with brisk bidding activity. Pleasing lemon-gold coloration is amplified by dazzling luster on this near-Gem example.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2896, PCGS# 7944, GSID# 8607)
