    Description

1912 Quarter Eagle, Conditionally Scarce MS65

1912 $2 1/2 MS65 PCGS. The 1912 is surprisingly scarce given its 616,000-coin mintage, the third highest in the series. It is fairly available through near-Gem, but Gems are scarce and higher-grade examples are rare. Rich apricot-gold patina adheres to the lustrous surfaces of this Gem, and a solid strike imparts sharp definition to the design elements, including the feathers in the headdress and those on the eagle's shoulder. Close examination reveals no significant marks. All in all, these factors combine to yield strong eye appeal. Population: 63 in 65, 5 finer (12/13).(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 7KR8, PCGS# 7944)

    Weight: 4.18 grams

    Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
