    1912 Indian Quarter Eagle, MS66
    Superb Quality and Eye Appeal
    Extremely Rare This Fine

1912 $2 1/2 MS66 PCGS. There are a handful of issues in the Indian quarter eagle series that remain marginally available in MS66, but most dates are major condition rarities at this level. The 1912 is most assuredly in the latter category. This issue boasts a mintage exceeding 600,000 pieces but is only available through MS64. Gems are scarcely seen, and pieces as fine are the current MS66 coin are extremely rare -- these remarkable few coins are the finest known of the issue.

Thick mint luster shimmers over both sides of this MS66 coin, each of which showcases a lovely mixture of deep reddish-gold and lilac patina. The design elements are sharply struck, including almost complete definition on the lowest feather in the headdress. While most examples of the 1912 reveal noticeable abrasions, this coin displays remarkably clean surfaces. Population: 5 in 66, 0 finer (10/15).
