Description

Notable 1913 Gem Quarter Eagle

1913 $2 1/2 MS65 PCGS. The 1913 quarter eagle can be located with little difficulty through the near-Gem grade level. The certified population takes a noticeable drop in MS65 and again in MS66. No finer specimens have been seen by either PCGS or NGC. This sharply struck Gem displays lustrous peach gold surfaces tinted with hints of light green. A few minute marks in the reverse fields may well preclude an even higher grade. Population: 86 in 65, 5 finer (10/09).(Registry values: N4719)
