Description
1913 Quarter Eagle, MS66
Just 10 So Graded
1913 $2 1/2 MS66 PCGS. Production soared to 722,000 quarter
eagles in 1913, the highest mintage of the Indian design. However,
this issue ranks eighth of 15 in PCGS MS66 or finer grades. Hints
of pale blue and rose appear on the lustrous sunset-gold surfaces
of this sharply struck and highly lustrous Premium Gem. The present
offering is just the eighth time that an MS66 PCGS example of this
issue has appeared in our auctions dating back to 1993. The
previous seven auction appearances, all in the 13-year period from
2010 to 2022, represented six different coins. In addition, a
single MS66 NGC coin appeared in our February 2005 auction and
reappeared in January 2014 and July 2014.(Registry values: N4719)From The Don Kutz California Collection.
