    MS64+ 1914 Quarter Eagle

1914 $2 1/2 MS64+ PCGS. CAC. While the 1911-D is the obvious key date of the Indian quarter eagle series, those who have tried to assemble the set understand well just how challenging the 1914, which has the second-lowest mintage in the series, can be in high grades. As an MS64+, this coin is one of just three coins so certified with 50 numerically finer (2/11). Glowing honey-gold surfaces are smooth and satiny, the devices well-defined, and the overall eye appeal strong. Just a few faint disturbances on each side, such as a couple of luster grazes over the eagle's head, leave the piece shy of a Gem designation.(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 7KRA, PCGS# 7946)
