    1914 Quarter Eagle, Vibrant MS65
    Conditional Rarity

1914 $2 1/2 MS65 PCGS Secure. Vibrant luster and rich pumpkin-gold color with hints of blue, lavender, and red create a lovely appearance for this Gem example of Bela Lyon Pratt's sunken relief design. The 1914 and 1914-D issues are both conditional keys within the series in Gem grade. The design elements on this piece display strong definition and lack any marks worthy of mention. PCGS and NGC have each awarded higher numeric grades to three examples (11/15).
    Ex: December Signature (Heritage, 12/2013), lot 3817, brought $23,500; Chicago ANA Signature (Heritage, 8/2014), lot 5638, realized $15,275. (Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 7KRA, PCGS# 7946)
