    Description

    1914 Quarter Eagle, MS65
Only Three Numerically Finer at PCGS

1914 $2 1/2 MS65 PCGS. The 1914 boasts the second-lowest mintage in the Indian quarter eagle series (behind only the key-date 1911-D), and is proportionately ranked as the second-scarcest in Mint State condition. At the Gem grade level, the date becomes a rarity in the context of the series, and here ranks as the third rarest date overall (trailing only the 1911-D and the 1914-D). The design elements are sharply struck throughout, though one could make a technical exception for the lowest headdress feather which ill-defined in select areas. The luster is satiny and honey-gold in color, and the well-preserved surfaces are fully deserving of the assigned Gem grade. Population: 65 in 65 (1 in 65+), 3 finer (3/19).(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 7KRA, PCGS# 7946)

    Weight: 4.18 grams

    Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
