1914-D Quarter Eagle
Reddish-Gold Near-Gem

1914-D $2 1/2 MS64 NGC. CAC. The 1914-D quarter eagle is a rarity in the higher Mint State grades. This near-Gem displays the deep reddish-gold coloration that collectors prize in the series, with rich luster prevailing over relatively unmarked surfaces. Both the Indian's cheek and the exposed fields on the reverse, above the eagle, are free of singular marks. The few Gems certified at NGC (39 pieces) and PCGS (36) are within the Condition Census for the issue.(Registry values: N2998)
