Description

Lustrous Near-Gem 1914-D Quarter Eagle

1914-D $2 1/2 MS64 NGC. Areas of khaki-gold and greenish-gold alternate on the lustrous surfaces of this near-Gem, but there are remarkably few signs of contact on the obverse. The reverse shows some light planchet roughness before the eagle, apparently as made, and a couple of stray abrasions that preclude the Gem level.(Registry values: N2998)
