    1914-D Quarter Eagle, MS65
    Only One Finer Coin Certified

1914-D $2 1/2 MS65 PCGS. The 1914-D is similar to the 1914 in that both issues saw moderate circulation at the time of issue, and are somewhat scarcer in Mint State condition than are the more common dates from the late 1920s. The 1914-D, with nearly twice the mintage of its Philadelphia counterpart (448,000 pieces versus just 240,000 pieces), is understandably significantly more available in every grade through MS64; at the Gem level, however, the scale finally tips and from here on up the Denver issue is actually the rarer coin. This honey-gold representative is well-struck throughout, with satiny luster and pleasantly clean fields. The mintmark is boldly impressed. Population: 46 in 65, 0 finer (7/14).(Registry values: N7079) (NGC ID# 2899, PCGS# 7947)

    Weight: 4.18 grams
