    1914-D Indian Quarter Eagle, MS65
Premier Condition Rarity in Higher Grades

1914-D $2 1/2 MS65 PCGS. In grades at or above the Gem level, the 1914-D Indian quarter eagle is a prime condition rarity in the series, from a reported mintage of 448,000 pieces. Lower Mint State examples can be found with patience, but the typical example has too many surface marks to qualify for a really high grade, and many have weak strikes, as well. The 1914-D is definitely an underrated issue in higher grades and even specialists sometimes fail to recognize its elusive nature at the Premium Gem level.

This delightful Registry Set candidate offers sharply detailed design elements and vibrant mint luster throughout. The well-preserved yellow-gold surfaces show a few hints of rose, with outstanding eye appeal. No mentionable distractions are evident. Population: 48 in 65, 0 finer (6/15).(Registry values: N7079) (NGC ID# 2899, PCGS# 7947)

    Weight: 4.18 grams

    Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
