Description

Radiant 1915 Quarter Eagle, MS66
One of the Finest Certified

1915 $2 1/2 MS66 PCGS. The 1915 quarter eagle, sporting a mintage of 606,000 circulation strikes, is one of the most obtainable dates in high grades. PCGS and NGC have certified several thousand pieces through the near-Gem level of preservation. The population declines precipitously in MS65 and again in MS66, where the two services combined have graded a mere seven specimens, and none finer.
Both sides of this Premium Gem display radiant luster, an extremely unusual trait for the date. The design motifs exhibit virtually complete definition, including the central areas that are sometimes weak. A couple of minute milling marks in the upper right reverse field are mentioned only because they might help in pedigreeing the coin. Population: 3 in 66, 0 finer (2/10).
