Description

1925-D Quarter Eagle, MS66 CAC
Important Type Opportunity

1925-D $2 1/2 MS66 PCGS. CAC. No quarter eagles were produced for more than a decade after 1915, so the Denver Mint produced a large mintage of 578,000 coins in 1925. The issue is easy to locate in lower grades, but the availability falls off quickly above the Gem level. The PCGS population for 1925-D and 1926 quarter eagles is identical with 63 examples of each issue graded MS66 and three others of each issue graded MS66+ (11/24). These two dates trail only the 1908 quarter eagle for the highest population in the series and are ideally suited to represent the type in a collection of coin designs. This brilliant Premium Gem has exceptional luster and sharp design definition with vibrant rose and lime-green surfaces.
