    Description

Conditionally Rare, Premium Gem 1925-D Quarter Eagle

1925-D $2 1/2 MS66 PCGS. Variegated swirls of mint-green, orange-gold, and crimson-copper shades adorn both sides of this carefully preserved 1920s Denver Mint quarter eagle. The underlying surfaces display pinpoint definition that is free of the die buckling that often accompanies survivors of this issue. For pedigree purposes, a tiny vertical toning streak is noted across the lowest feather in the Indian's headdress. Unsurpassable in all regards, this coin is one of only 28 examples graded MS66 by PCGS. It is bettered by only one example at NGC (4/06).(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 7KRD, PCGS# 7949)

    Weight: 4.18 grams

    Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper

With the superb catalog, a masterwork prepared by Mark Borckhardt, the sale was destined to meet all of my expectations; that it did, and then some. Be assured that I would highly recommend Heritage Auctions to any of my associates contemplating the sale
