Description

Distinctive 1926 Indian Quarter Eagle, MS66

1926 $2 1/2 MS66 PCGS. The Indian quarter eagles are interesting coins that feature a raised design sunken below the level of the surrounding fields. Some have called them "incuse" design coins, although that is incorrect. The sunken relief design was a first on any U.S. coin, and will probably never be repeated.
This boldly detailed Premium Gem is a splendid representative with brilliant and frosty yellow-gold luster hosting iridescent accents. It is tied for the finest that PCGS has certified, and a candidate for a top quality PCGS Set Registry collection of the design. Population: 38 in 66, 0 finer (2/10).
