Description
1928 Quarter Eagle, MS66
Top-Grade PCGS Registry Coin
1928 $2 1/2 MS66 PCGS. The 1928 quarter eagle is a
sought-after late-series type coin for collectors of pre-1933 gold,
standing as the penultimate issue in the Indian Head quarter eagle
series. This exceptional piece showcases lustrous wheat-gold
surfaces and finely detailed design elements, with an attractive
luminance overall. Excellent preservation further heightens the
overall visual appeal. While the 1928 can be readily located in
most grades, particularly through near-Gem, MS66 examples are quite
rare and require considerably more searching to acquire. PCGS
reports only 17 coins in MS66 (one of which is Plus designated)
with none numerically finer (5/24).(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 289E, PCGS# 7952, Greysheet# 8613)
