1911-D Two and a Half Indian, AU58
Sharp and Attractive Key Issue
1911-D $2 1/2 AU58 NGC. The Indian quarter eagle series is
eminently collectible for all, which translates into spirited
competition for the better dates in the series. The 1911-D trumps
all in that regard. The low mintage of 55,680 pieces makes the
'11-D the unquestioned key except in the highest Uncirculated
grades, where a few other issues are equally rare. This near-Mint
example displays good orange-gold color with strong eye appeal. The
mintmark is bold, while the grade is confirmed by light high-point
wear and a few minor marks. The diagnostic wire rim is sharply
visible at the upper-right quadrant.(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 7KR7, PCGS# 7943)Weight: 4.18 grams
