The Monumental ore mill was built in 1878 to process rich silver ores from the mine. The stamped weight on the present ingot is 18.31 ozs., with .018 fine gold, and .736 fine silver. The respective values of the silver and gold are stamped on the ingot, silver $17.42 and gold $6.81 for a total assayed value of $24.23. The name plate MONUMENTAL MINE / GRANT CO. OREGON is stamped on the side in a rectangular box. An authentic 1800s ingot from Oregon, which was granted statehood in 1859. This ingot is one of just three that survive from the Monumental mine.
