Description

Qajar. Muzzafar al-Din Shah silver "Europe Visit" Medal AH 1318 (1900) MS62 NGC, Paris mint, KM-Pn25. 36mm. By Henri-Auguste Patey. Struck in France during the Shah's royal European tour. Military uniformed, three-quarters bust right of Muzzafar al-Din // Heraldic lion holding sword, radiant sun behind, crown above, all surrounded by wreath. A historically significant offering and beautiful emission from the Paris mint. The Matte appearance does well to enhance the devices, all appearing dramatic and resolute. We've witnessed increased interest for this scarce type when it has appeared to market in the last few years.
