COLL · SS · ET · INDIVID · TRIN · REG · ELIZABETHÆ · IVXTA · DVBL · 1591. Rev. Coat-of-arms on shamrock-patterned background; rose and portcullis flanking. PHILOSOPHIA NATURALI FELICITER EXCULTIS. Prize Medal for Philosophy awarded by Trinity College Dublin. Presented to Edwardus O'Brien. SOC; COM; 1859. A spectacular 19th Century gold medal. The devices are nicely frosted, with bold relief and super engraving on both Mary's portrait and the center of the reverse. Deeply mirrored fields create a nice cameo effect on both sides.
