Italy: Livorno. Cosimo III de Medici Pezza della Rosa 1718 MS63 NGC,...
Description
Livorno. Cosimo III de Medici Pezza della Rosa 1718 MS63 NGC, Florence mint, KM15.4, Dav-1501, MIR-66/13. A fantastic Tuscan "Crown" specimen featuring the incredible rosebush design that dominates the obverse; this is a design that is quintessentially Italian, masterfully (and artfully) rendered by the engraver. Designs this unique are often found on one-year issues but this type is part of a series that was struck with five different dates between 1706 and 1718. The strike, though slightly off-center on the obverse, is sharp, and the thick ashen patina is absolutely lovely. Tied atop the NGC census for this date, a prized offering as such.Metal: Silver
Diameter: 43mm
Weight: 6.9g
Estimate: $6,000 - $8,000.
