    Description

Naples & Sicily. Joachim Murat gold 40 Lire 1813 MS64 NGC, Naples mint, KM266, Fr-859, MIR-439/1 (R). Mintage: 24,000. An astonishing rendition of this only one-year type struck under Napoleon's brother-in-law, not least for its marvelous state of preservation, presently standing as the single finest certified by NGC. To-date, the next highest we have sold was an MS63, which brought $8225 in our January 2015 NYINC sale.
