Description

A Classic Italian Rarity!

Sardinia. Vittorio Emanuele I gold Doppia 1814, Torino mint, KM94, Fr-1128, Varesi-1019 (R8), MS62 NGC. One-year type. Well struck for the type with fully imparted hair detail on the obverse and a far above-average shielded eagle on the reverse. The luster, a key attribute on this present specimen, imparts a luminous glow on both sides that can't help but impress the eye. Seemingly high-end for the grade with limited evidence of contact and only a few stray hairlines that prevent the usage of the "Choice" moniker. A classic Italian rarity, and when offered to the market, a coin that is always eagerly received.
