FS-106, 'Doubled Eye' Variety

1943-P 5C Doubled Die Obverse, FS-106, MS67 Full Steps PCGS. This coveted Guide Book variety shows clear die doubling on the date, LIBERTY, and Jefferson's eye with the secondary eye just below the primary one. The Cherrypickers' Guide notes: "This is one of the Jefferson nickel original 'Top 10' varieties. It is becoming more and more difficult to locate." A fully brilliant Superb Gem, each side exhibits a blanket of thick, frosty luster and pinpoint-sharp detail. A few unimportant ticks below the reverse motto preclude an even higher assessment.
