Description

Well Defined 1946-D/D Near-Gem Nickel

1946-D/D 5C MS64 NGC. FS-031. The initial mintmark was inverted, with the subsequent punch in the correct position. A layer of champagne-gold patina rests on highly lustrous surfaces. Well struck, including sharp (though not quite full) delineation in the steps. A few minor ticks define the grade. Census: 2 in 64, 5 finer (6/07).(Registry values: P1)
