The Single Finest Certified

1959-D 5C MS67 Full Steps NGC. By 1959 nickel production at the Denver mint was exceeding 150 million coins annually, which lowered strike quality considerably. As a result, high-grade 1959-D nickels are remarkably scarce with Five Full Steps. This beautifully preserved Full Steps example exhibits unblemished silver-gray luster with strong visual appeal. This is the only Superb Gem awarded the Five Full Steps designation at NGC and PCGS combined, with none finer (3/14).(Registry values: P1)
