Description

1962 Nickel, MS67 Full Steps
Tied for Finest Graded

1962 5C MS67 Full Steps PCGS. The incidence of Full Step coins is approximately one in 20 pieces. However, as Bernard Nagengast points out, "most coins show abrasions and bagmarks." This is not one of those. However, it is one of only four MS67 Full Step coins certified at PCGS (one in MS67+ Full Steps) with none finer (11/18), a strong indication of the conditional scarcity of the 1962. The fields are bright and semiprooflike, the result of die polishing, an effect most apparent on the reverse. Pale, even golden color is seen across both sides with additional violet tones near the borders.(Registry values: P1)
