Description

1964-D/D Jefferson Nickel, MS65+
FS-501, Repunched Mintmark

1964-D/D 5C Repunched Mintmark, FS-501, MS65+ PCGS. The repunching on the D is plainly visible beneath a loupe on this popular Cherrypickers' variety. This high-end Gem is sharply struck in most areas, save for on the steps where slight softness is seen. A few small marks on Jefferson's cheek limit the grade. Brilliant and appealing. PCGS has attributed only six examples of this variety in all grades. Population (FS-501): 3 in 65 (1 in 65+), 1 finer (10/21).
