1971 5C No S, FS-501, PR69 Cameo PCGS. Following the change in proof coinage from Philadelphia, where no mintmark was required, to San Francisco, occasional dies slipped through without the S mintmark, and limited numbers of proof sets were produced and shipped to lucky collectors. The 1971-No S nickel is one of those, and this nearly perfect example is a lovely representative. Both sides have light gray surfaces with deeply mirrored fields and frosty devices. Population: 14 in 69 Cameo, 0 finer (8/16).
