Description

Yung Hi gold 20 Won Year 3 (1909), KM1144, J&V AD3, MS64 NGC. Essentially perfect strike, with full deep-mirror fields and only a few, barely noticeable, tiny contact marks. As with the two previous lots, a special striking worthy of Proof, or Specimen designation. Also, as with the other two 1909 gold issues, only two pieces known, and the other permanently housed in a Japanese museum. We would think it fitting for these exceptional Korean gold coins to find their way back to Korea, but we also expect the bidding, in this first ever offering (and perhaps only ever offering), to be quite active.
