Description
1793 S-1 AMERI. Cent, Fine Details
America's First Cent
1793 1C Chain, AMERI., S-1, B-1, R.4 -- Damaged -- NGC
Details. Fine. Steel-gray surfaces do not exhibit porosity. A
gouge through the face has been part of the coin's patina for a
long time, and has fully toned over. A few other errant scratches
exist in the southeast quadrant of the obverse, as well as in the
field at STATES OF on the reverse, but these are not immediately
noticeable. The reverse legend is clear, showing the AMERI
abbreviation that identifies it as being among the first cents ever
produced by the U.S. Mint.
