Description

1793 S-1 Chain Cent, Fair 2
Affordable AMERI Example

1793 1C Chain, AMERI., S-1, B-1, R.4, Fair 2 PCGS. Surfaces are even with rich chocolate-brown coloration and microscopic porosity. The date is obliterated, as is most of STATES on the reverse, but UNITED is bold and LIBERTY and OF AMERI are discernable, enabling attribution as the AMERI variety. This coin represents an affordable example of the first die marriage of American cent to be coined -- the alpha to the omega represented by the final 2025 cents with that counterstamp.
